Philodendron mamei #1
The Philodendron belongs to the plant family of the Araceae. It is mostly native to neotropical rainforests of Florida, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean islands and tropical South America. The rare Philodendron mamei grows in nature as a groundcover and creeps up trees. It is a real gem with its shiny silver leaf pattern and even looks a bit like a drawing. Its heart-shaped leaves are a rich green and can grow huge. Because of the color and the size, it has more than earned its nickname Silver Cloud.
Care
If the plant is looking for something to climb up, be sure to provide it. This promotes healthy growth and beautiful large leaves. Homemade climbing aids made of sphagnum moss or commercially available vine sticks for climbing plants are suitable.
Temperatures between 20° and 25° Celsius and increased humidity are optimal for this rare houseplant. It also enjoys bright, indirect light. The substrate should always be nice and loose and never dry out completely. To avoid waterlogging, it is advisable to water the Philodendron mamei again only when the first centimeters of soil are dry.
